Black Friday is Friday, Nov. 27, 2026, and Small Business Saturday is Saturday, Nov. 28. The season’s biggest holiday market opens a week earlier.

Updated Nov. 2: City Market has posted its 2026 holiday dates (tree lighting Friday, Dec. 4; pet parade Saturday, Dec. 5); the Christmas Market’s hours (11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, free) and Christmas Made in the South’s $10 admission are added. Mall holiday hours and the city’s holiday parking plan are still not posted.

Store hours

Oglethorpe Mall, 7804 Abercorn St., is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the mall’s hours page. The mall says individual stores and restaurants may keep different hours. It had not posted Thanksgiving or Black Friday hours by Nov. 2. Phone: 912-629-2800.

Holiday markets

Christmas Made in the South, Nov. 13-15, Savannah Convention Center. The 37th annual show of handmade arts, crafts and gourmet food runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at 1 International Drive. Adult admission is $10 at the door and children 12 and under are free; one admission is good for all three days with a hand stamp. Details: Made in the South Shows.

Savannah Christmas Market, Nov. 19 to Jan. 3, Plant Riverside District. The district at 400 W. River St. runs a free European-style outdoor market, open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, with vendor stalls, live performances, children’s activities, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, a Festival of Trees and holiday food and drink. Some vendors may close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The district’s tree lighting is 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27. Source: Plant Riverside District.

Celebrate the Season in City Market, Dec. 4-5. Savannah City Market’s holiday page lists two days:

  • Friday, Dec. 4, 6 to 8 p.m.: a candlelit procession with caroling from in front of Wexford’s at 6:15 p.m., then the tree lighting, shopping deals, live demos in the Art Center, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a Santa Duck Hunt.
  • Saturday, Dec. 5, 1 to 3 p.m.: Christmas karaoke in the courtyard, artist tents, a kids zone, a pet parade and costume contest (meet at Woof Gang Bakery at 2:15 p.m.) and a pet adoption event with Renegade Paws Rescue.

The Saturday Forsyth Farmers Market also runs through the season.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving set aside for independent stores. We will add any Small Business Saturday events that downtown business groups announce, with times and addresses.

Parking and traffic

The City of Savannah has offered free parking in its downtown garages on set days during past holiday seasons. In 2022, for example, the city’s announcement made garages free from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from late November through December. The city had not announced a 2026 program by Nov. 2. The city-owned garages are:
